Anyone in SW Idaho area going to Emmett??

I am taking my Chevelle over with a bunch of other Chevelle folks. Over 800 cars will be there, I am going to look for some truck parts at the swap meet. Won't be hanging around for the cruise in the evening.

Re: Anyone in SW Idaho area going to Emmett??

I will be there for the night cruise, but gonna have to miss the day show due to a wedding in Mt Home around noon. I am bringing the 69 Chevelle convertible , as the 64 is in the middle of a motor swap.
Daverod is coming over from Pocotello and is staying at the motel in Emmett, not sure when he is leaving Poky for Emmett, tonight or tomorrow.
Valdez and Cokeb always attend too

Re: Anyone in SW Idaho area going to Emmett??

To quote The Oxford Dictionary of American Usage and Style:

The two terms are interchangeable, so euphony governs the
choice in any given context. In practice, anyone appears in
print about three times as often as anybody.

I would strongly suggest that this gap between written and spoken usage
evidences the fact that anyone is the formal usage. In my experience as
an academic with a PhD in history, and as an editorial assistant at an
academic journal, anyone is the preferred usage.

Google provides a useful, but informal measure. On .edu sites, anybody
appears 313,000 times while anyone appears 2,170,000 times. The ratio is
nearly the same for somebody and someone.

I will not argue with Oxford, but to my ears anybody sounds rather
awkward in polite speech. So, if "euphony governs the choice," I would
suggest (from the perspective of an east coast academic for what it is
worth) that anyone has a more pleasing sound.

Re: Anyone in SW Idaho area going to Emmett??

Missed seeing you at the night cruise -
It was pretty hot and over 100 degrees but I cruised around for awhile then hung out with Cokeb , Valdez, Daverod, and R-Bar from the forum in the shade -
And also saw Imperial Kustom dragging frame down the street.

Re: Anyone in SW Idaho area going to Emmett??

Got there early around 7, left around 1 PM, it was 96 when I left. Cruised over with about 6 other Chevelles. Lots of nice rigs there, I heard it went over 1,000. I tried posting some pics but need to resize them again, server says still too large. Sorry I missed you guys but we can get together this fall. I might go over to Payette, it is supposed to be a good one too.
