Question about brakes
I started switching my brakes everything was going good till I wanted to push the piston back into the caliper. I'm using a c-clamp with the old brake pad so it's applying equal pressure on the top and bottom. The piston will not budge it seems to be stuck on stupid! Do I have to replace the brake caliper?? Or is there a way to make this one work??

It sounds like the piston is cocked in the bore. Are these new, rebuild, or used calipers? Blow air into the port to push piston out of bore. just make sure to remove the dust seal first and place a piece of wood or other soft material in the caliper to cushion the piston as it comes (flying) out.

You may need a new one,i had one seize this week was fine last time out.You can try cracking the bleeder while pushing it in with your clamp,that will take some presure off .

use extension on the handle(mo leverage) of the cclamp to exert more pressure to collapase the caliper
also have cover removed from the master cylinder

If that piston won't go back either the caliper is bad or the hose is collapsed on the inside. Open the bleeder or crack the hose loose. If the piston goes back it's the hose, if it's still stuck it's the caliper.

Thanks guys I just ended up buying one. It was a dead caliper. Got a reman for $20
