Completed the Set! 1986 Suburban Choo Choo Custom
Just picked up a 350 powered Sub with a Choo Choo Customs conversion top and found a power folding bench/bed seat for free 8 miles from where I picked up the rig. It is rough to say the least, some rust here and there. But, it is solid and the only one I have ever seen in person. Seen plenty of their truck conversions, and this one was a more basic version I believe. It did have a TV and VCR but that is the extent of the luxury items from what I can tell. Best part is that it is 4wd! I have not seen any 4x4 conversions from this particular company but I am sure there are others.
Does anyone have any pictures of other converted Suburbans for reference? Mine is all to pieces and in shambles. I do not have pictures of mine yet, but I will tomorrow, until then this post is useless...

Thank you 70-K5 for the link, I saw one of those pictures on Google also, not much else though. Apparently they did more El Camino conversions than anything else from what I can tell.

Re: Completed the Set! 1986 Suburban Choo Choo Custom
A new battery, a shot of starting fluid and one bird's nest later the old beast came to life. Previous owner stated he dropped a cylinder, but offered no reason as to why he made that diagnosis. It idles a bit rough, but it has two year old gas in the system. It doe snot seem to have any obvious knocks or ticks, but does have several exhaust leaks. Anyone care to share symptoms of "a dropped cylinder" so I know what to look for? Thanks

Pull the plugs and inspect them. Look for a plug with a lot of oil or fuel on it. That will be an indicator for sure. Depending on how old they are, a set of plugs and plug wires probably couldn't hurt either. Not a lot of expense, and could be reused on a rebuild if something major is wrong. Good gas would be a good starting point too though.
