Booster Rod Length
Does anyone have a link or some guidance on setting the length of the booster push rod... 78 C10 booster and master on a 62 C10.
I tried the search function and my work computer gave me static. TIA - rg |

Re: Booster Rod Length
grab an adjustable rod from a later model truck or van. The end has threaded input like a tie rod, and lets you move the end in and out adjusting the length. Some will fit directly, others may need you to modify the end to fit the new rod.
I welded the adjustable end onto my old manual booster rod when I converted to hydroboost. There are a few pics in my build if photobucket has finally unlocked it from traffic.

Re: Booster Rod Length
Just trim both your original pushrod and the booster pushrod, and weld them together. The original pushrod is adjustable.

I had what I assumed was a stock manual master, with a fixed p/r.

Re: Booster Rod Length
That's my original in the pic between the modified p/r and the later p/r end.
Clutch and brake side were identical on my 62 and adjustable. I had to add 1 3/4" to the length and drill the brake pedal arm about an inch lower to keep things in line but it seems to work fine. Thanks for the reply bob |
