350 chevy engine question

This is actually in my El Camino not my 47 GMC but figured someone here might know...When I start the engine cold I get 50PSI on the oil. Once warmed up and at idle I get 25 PSI on the oil pressure. The second I hit the gas to go again it goes right back up to 50 psi again. Is this something to worry about?

Re: 350 chevy engine question

Rule of thumb is 10 psi per 1000 rpm, so your golden with that psi.

Re: 350 chevy engine question

It sounds pretty well normal. I've had a lot of small blocks in the past 40 years and they all did pretty much the same thing.
