Water pump pulley Adjustment

As per another thread, I had to move the water pump pulley 3/16" toward the block to have good alignment with the alt and crank pulleys. It really wasn't a difficult thing to do just a PITA because I had to drain the rad and, the fact that you have to pull the back off the pump. I happened to have a make shift press that I had built for something else long ago and, it worked out great. Just had to find the correct spacers to fit it inside. As you can see in the 2nd pic, a drop light I had managed to get close enough to melt the rad shroud...my head got up my......long enough for this to happen. A brand new shroud!! You can bet I won't make that mistake again!

Re: Water pump pulley Adjustment

Glad to hear you got that issue resolved. It seems odd that you couldn't find the correct pump.

You should be able to fix that shroud with some fiberglass work.

It seems odd to me too. I tried at Napa, O'Reilly, and Auto Zone. All the same story.
