rim width question

.I have a 67 chevy c10 and I was wondering what's the widest rim you can run on the rear with out modification ... The truck will be lowered around 3 inches

Without changing anything and just bolting up a wheel and tire combination, I would suggest a 8.5" wide wheel. This is if we are talking 20's or 22's.
