shift adjustment
Is there a procedure for adjusting the shift linkage and getting it right? If so, I'd like to know. Every once in awhile (too often it locks up at an inconvenient time) it locks up after coming to a stop after shifting down from 2nd to 1st.

Re: shift adjustment
Yes, the service manual has a procedure for adjusting the linkage. Is this an ongoing problem or something that recently started? After all these years and untold shifts the bushings in the shifter and on the linkage are more than likely the issue. Could also be internal transmission wear.

Re: shift adjustment
I found it. Thanks. It's something that I've put up with for quite a few years and wasn't a nuisance enough to work on. I know I need bushings, any good sources you know of?
