Re: how to instal engine block heater?
Depending on the type of block heater it is... usually it replaces one of the freezplugs. There are also the flat blanket type.

Re: how to instal engine block heater?
That style goes into a frost plug hole. Pick one that has the most access to it. Drain the coolant first by removing one of the drain plugs on the side of the engine block. Then tap one end of the frost plug in til the plug rotates a little or falls in. I then use a channel lock pliers to retrieve one lip of the old frost plug then pull it out through the opening. You can leave the old plug in the block if you have enough room to get your heater element in the coolant passage. The heater does have an o-ring on it for sealling, I would recommend a little RTV sealant between the o-ring and the outer collar for added sealing insurance. Install the heater, snug tight the bolt, refill coolant, air bleed system.

Re: how to instal engine block heater?
Q8 you're in Kuwait, why would you need or want one?
Only needed below zero farenheit or 20 below C. Have you tested it to see if it works? |

I use this model on my -83 GMC truck, easy mount on the return hose from cab heater.1100 w and with pump who cirkulates the cooling fluid, thermostath and overheating protection.works much better than the blockheater i had before.

Re: how to instal engine block heater?
We used to use those to heat our water for coffee in the assembly plant.
