Line Mt. 7-Miler '13
Well,Oldchev4x4 did it again. Fastest time in his class!...but second place trophy . Last time is a long story. This time their time was over the fastest by about the time it took to change the flat they had. BUT...the first place winner should never have been in this class (4x4 Limited). The rules state this class requires factory frame and the winner had a back-halved rig. The third place racer (actually 2nd) protested and the decision was made to leave it be. I guess two wrongs make a right to them? They probably figured the only ones who would know all this were the two placers who got screwed and if they corrected it everyone would know they screwed up. Pretty loose tech inspections for sure.
Anyway, there's next year and this rig, driver, and co-pilot can do it again! Here's a few pictures I got. First, heading down to the starting line, then Randy,Jeff, and Randy's two boys Hunter and Blaze:

Very cool!
That looks like fun and the blazer sounds awesome! There are some very vocal folks in the crowd! About a fourth of the way through the first vid you hear " go you sob, go!". Thanks for posting! John

Hah...Yeah,that guy's far away but you hear him loud and clear! He's a friend and fellow racer of theirs. A pretty cool guy from what I've seen. There's great comradery within this group. Line Mt. 4 Wheels is a club and they have events and trail rides throughout the year. Across the way you see Line Mt.,named for being straight as an arrow for many miles...really stands out on a map.
www.lm4w.org I didn't take many pictures, but here are a few more rigs before the race:

Re: Line Mt. 7-Miler '13
Woh....I didn't know you started a thread Tim! Thanks for doing that!
On Monday night I got a call from Chris at Line Mountain 4 Wheelers. After several complaints they reinspected the winner of my class and found him to be legal. The rules state that you must have a stock frame, but repairs are allowed. His frame was excessively repaired....but legal. You must also have the motor in the stock location. Its a Toyota frame with a Chevy motor. I don't know where the stock location is for a Chevy motor in a Toyota since they didn't come with one. You must also have the stock wheelbase and this dimension was not known so they didnt measure it. Once payout is over its a done deal. All protest and issues must be dealt with beforehand. All this ads up to him being the winner and me being the first looser. Chris also told me that next year they will have the measurements ready for tech inspection of his rig. I still had a he11 of a good time and will definitely be back next year trying.....again.....to get the win and on the T-shirt! More pic are herehttps://www.facebook.com/SchreierRac...tos?ref=stream

Re: Line Mt. 7-Miler '13
I only know of this particular type of racing right here. Could be others, but Randy would know better. They call it Obstacle Course Racing (I think) and they've been doing it there for 43 years now. There are getting to be more techy vehicles lately, with entries that cross over from rock crawling (like the two I showed). There are many classes that make it pretty darn fair,if they'd just follow their own guidelines closer. I didn't see any moon buggies (high dollar rock buggies) this year. Saw a bunch of broken ones when they did come. Line Mt sent them home

I Know. Glad you at least got a shot of it. Hopefully next year you will be a free man again (for a weekend). I didn't think I was going till a day or so before. Actually,Randy wasn't so sure till a week or more before. The Blazer's dialed-in to take it now, that's for sure (not to be overconfident)

Come on back James! My southern rebels stayed over night this time and we had a blast! Even with the rain.
