Re: 1971 Bench Seat
Not sure but I think you might have to take the foam out for them to fold. I've got a spare seat 'frame' and its folded but there is no way that the foam would fit in there and allow it to fold. This is a 70 seat though.

Re: 1971 Bench Seat
I know that my 70 seat doesn't fold, but my old 64 did. Go figure.

Re: 1971 Bench Seat
If it is a 71 bench seat, it does not fold forward. I believe the 67-68 bench seats are the only ones that do in our trucks.

Re: 1971 Bench Seat
My 73 folded, but I have yet to have an earlier year fold. Might have been an option then none of the trucks I've owned had.

Re: 1971 Bench Seat
On the passenger side at the hinge there is a bolt that keeps the seat from folding, you can unscrew it and fold the seat but theirs nothing to keep the back upright it will lay back on the tank if its still there but you can fold the seat.

Re: 1971 Bench Seat
On my 72, I took the bolt out, folded the seat forward, put the bolt back in for the back to rest on. You will need to modify the seat cover in order for this to work as the stock cover covers the arm attaching back to the boottom
