Re: 62 front and reared questions

Yes the 77 front end will fit, anything from 73-87 will work. Here’s a thread that may prove helpful:

I’m not experienced with the rear end swap, but I understand the 69 rear axle will fit, but will be ¾” wider per side. Also the axle mounts will need to be relocated as they don’t line up in the same place as the 60-62’s.

If you’re swapping the front suspension, this article may also be helpful with engine mount information:

Re: 62 front and reared questions

I swapped in a 1967 c10 rear end on my 60. As mentioned the axle pads need to be relocated. The 60-62 are positioned different then the 63-72. The 67 rear end was a bit wider too, no biggie but I was unable to run the wheels that I had wanted to.

Re: 62 front and reared questions

I put a 77 front end in my 62. Unless you are going to install bags it is not worth while. Just stick with drop spindles a sway bar and loosening the torsion bars.

Re: 62 front and reared questions

To my knowledge a '69 12 bolt should be the same width as the '62 HO32 differential currently under your '62. As previously mentioned, the trailing arm mounts are farther apart on the '60-'62's as compared to the '63-'72's.
