Re: led lights

I bought a pair of led tail lights, the kind that have the led's in the lens for my 62 step side from Classic Industries and they did not fit inside the cup at all. I am not usually disappointed with there product but his time I was.

My girls gave me a pair of led tail-and-brake-light "assemblies", stainless, for Xmas--look like the ones LMC sells; however, could've come from anywhere, as the older one develops/maintains web-shopping carts for on-site retailers. I specifically told 'em I wanted complete assy's to be certain of fit on my stepside. These fit & look & work great--and old flasher works just fine. (BTW, just a tad of difference in prices between conversions & complete units: LMC sells both!)

I'd try & find same for fleetside--my guess would be the 'conversion kits' would be difficult to make fit.

Sam

Re: led lights

United Pacific are the best, they fit good and have the most leds of any manufacturer. I sell them and use them in my vehicles.

Re: led lights

I bought some from ebay a long time ago and so far they have worked great.. I don't know the brand, im sure they were an off brand. All the LEDs are flush looking out of the lens.. I have had them there for over a year at least with no issues.

Re: led lights

If you just want to make your running lights and turn signals brighter, solder a ground wire to the housing of the light housing, then run a ground wire back to the frame of the truck (or a grounding block) make sure you clean the corrosion from the bulb housing, you will now have bright running/turn signals and it will not cost much. Re: led lights

I ran into a problem with getting the lights to ground, so I soldered a ground wire from the metal housing and attached it to a bed bolt. That solved it. The stock thermal flasher doesn't work with LEDs, so I've ordered a 'no load' flasher to cure that.

Re: led lights

I changed my seal beam lamps to 6024's with Hella H4 bulbs. The lamps have clear LED's that I've wired as turn signals, since my stockers no longer exist. I used slightly longer screws to attach the retainer rings.

Re: led lights

A little off subject but I tried to install led front turn signal and it made it so that all my tun signals on both sides blinked when I turned on my turn signal. I have the new type of blinker so that this is not supposed to happen. Any thoughts?

Re: led lights

The wiring is all stock. The headlights are 55/65 watts, so the stock wiring and switch should be fine. Grounding is the biggest issue with LEDs. Make sure you have good grounding with each circuit. Add your own ground, if necessary. A 'no load' flasher is necessary because of the low amp draw of LEDs. I chose, at the recommendation of another member, a reverse polarity flasher with it's own ground wire to solve the problem. Will know in a couple of weeks if it works.

Here's a link:

7" Round H6024 Sealed Beam Replacement Chrome... 7" Round H6024 Sealed Beam Replacement Chrome...
And the price has dropped. They don't have the DOT stamp on them, but make a nice pattern at nite. You can chose between white and amber LED halo lights.

Re: led lights

I don't know why the link is not working. Search "7 inch round halo LED headlight" on Amazon and they should come up.
