What is this?
Fuse? It is on the fire wall next to brake master cylinder. Not stock. One wire dead heads in cab and is hot with key on. Other end is soldered on fuse box in tab marked ign unfused? I think it is how they powered the cb that used to be in it. Interesting bc if it is fused the end that dead heads in the cab has one end of an inline fuse. Guess u can never be too careful.

Re: What is this?
I think it's a ballast resistor. Usually used to reduce voltage to the coil from 12V to 9V after initial cranking. (But wait for others to reply because maybe I'm full of baloney because this is all new to me, Hah!)
It is marked 1 ohm. That means 1 ohm of resistance.

Re: What is this?
It'd allow 12 amps under 12 volts, and 144 watts(I-square X R), Maybe for some kind of trailer brake system--since it's so close to mc? Yet, with the older craze of CB's, it could be anything, like a noise-filter of some type?
Now, I'm all outta guesses! Sam |
