Will 81 Chevy 2WD front suspension fit a 70 C10
Hey guys, I was browsing the Pittsburgh Craigslist and I stumbled on this complete front end from an 81' chevy.
http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/pts/4039799960.html I noticed it has disc brakes so does anyone know if this is a direct fit? Is this a cheaper, easier way to put disc brakes on the front of my 1970 C10? Thanks! |

There are a couple of ways you can do this swap, change the complete cross member or swap the A arms & spindles. I usually just swap the entire cross member. It's an easy swap but a little tougher if the engine is still in the truck, because of the motor mount stands. Here's a couple of pictures of the holes that need modified. You have to enlarge the bottom one because there is a weld nut on the cross member. Some guys doing the swap have said that the bottom hole lined up OK. LockDoc
