junkyard find
couldn't decide whether or not to go to the goodguys car show this weekend due to the weather and the money I knew I would blow if I went there. So, I decided I would go buy my favorite wrecking yard and scrounge some. I found a 68 with a sliding window that looks brand new. was able to haggle with the girl behind the counter and picked it up for $21. made my weekend

I would rather go to a junkyard than a car show any day. $21 is a great price for a sliding rear window.

sorry I should have made it clear that it wasn't a whole truck for 21 just the window. I'm pumped over finding it... don't miss going to the show at all.
btw for anyone in the local area the truck has decent front fenders and a good tailgate if anyone needs one let me know and i'll tell you where they are at |

I only know of one good junk yard to go to. Hint, it is north of Denton on I-35.

You didn't miss much at the Good Guy's thing. I think the weather scared most people off. The swap-meet part as very bare as was the vendors. Mostly standard stuff. I did meet Rob from No-Limits though.
The Auto-Cross was the only big thing going. Oh, and Richard Rawlings from Gas Monkey (fast and Load) was making a killing off of Merchandise, seemed like half the people there was wearing Gas Monkey hoodies they bought at his tent. Every once and a while I would see him buzzing around on a golf cart. On the flip side... My wife is all on board for the '70 now. She is a car-chick at heart but 10 years of no classics she kind of drifted away. Now she is ready to start dumping money into it and then wants a '70 Vette for her. Her reasoning is that the kids are all but grown and we have the Crew Cab Duramax so why should she need a family car. (I like that kind of thinking).
