At the dyno!!!

Here she is on the dyno at Cunningham Motor Sports! Hopefully they can get the tune working right! Can't wait for it to be done!!

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Arghhhhhh!!!!! Well, did the tune. Ryne worked hard on it. I'm not too thrilled with the numbers, 300 torque and 302 horsepower at the wheels. Seems to be about a 25% loss through the drivetrain. Ryne said something about heavy drivetrain and only getting into 2nd gear because of the 3.54 rear. It has the Dana 60 rear. He reminded me that these are just numbers.
Seat of the pants says something completely different. It is very quick and feels a lot faster than that.
Now comes the really frustrating part. So as I'm driving it around before I head back on the 1 hour and 45 minute drive, I get on the freeway and go wot at around 75 mph. She goes into limp mode on me. I get it back to the shop and he pulls up the code P0606. Internal PCM performance issue. I have pulled this code before I took it to him. He says that there is some problem with the PCM. He is going to try and get another one for me and will program it for free. Just may take a few days. In the meantime, I just can't romp on it on the freeway at speed. From a standstill it seems ok. He said it will randomly happen. So I've got my scantool hooked up so that when it happens I can clear the code without stopping on the side of the road. Sucks when it goes limp in the middle of the freeway doing 70! Somebody tell me something good, please! I'm feeling pretty discouraged right now. My old big block wouldn't be giving me these problems!

20-25% loss threw the drivetrain seems quite common, so just add the extra lost for a #, as for the other problem, who knows with modern electronic's, sure you will get it worked out, may even give you more power if the problem was substancial enough. We will be all ears when you get it straightened out. Good luck. Rick/Mudman.

Thanks for the kind words. It also didn't help that the 91 octane that I just filled the tank with was bad gas. When he tried to tune it on 91 in the ECM it knocked like crazy. He had to pull timing to get it to stop. Hopefully he will be able to get an ECM for me.

Thanks hart! I think he will. He has a good rep and seems to be a stand up guy. I just hope that my old daily driver is as important to him as all of the other amazing cars that are in there. Did I mention that he had this there also:

I've been reading your posts and know that you have been on a rollercoaster ride. At this point you seem to be on the right track. Working with a reputable tuner is the right move. This can and will eventually get sorted out. I appreciate how you have taken the time to post your experiences so all can learn.
Hang in there and remember - it's just a machine and there's nothing that cannot be resolved - given enough time and money. Later in life that time and money is transformed into precious gems - experience.
