Better? A-Arm bushings for a '68....
Is it just me, or are there simply no upgrade options out there? I figure I just must be overlooking the obvious, but I'm stumped.
I found a set of Competition Engineering upper A-Arm bushings, and nothing for the lowers, but that seems to be the extent of it. They apparently also fit '67-69 Camaros, some Chevelles, etc., so in theory I could use one of those options to try to work backwards. Maybe? But I thought I'd ask here to see if there is a simple (and hopefully cheap) solution that I'm missing. What is everyone else using for bushings with stock '67-'70 a-arms?

From 1970 down the A--arms had steel bushings. that worked a screw. There is no other replacement for them. The advantage is that there is no flex in these bushings. The disadvantage is ride quality. If you want urethane bushings you will have to upgrade to 71 up A-arms.

To the original poster, what are you trying to accomplish with an upgrade ? You're not gonna improve performance. They're steel. No deflection or deforming under load. They're more stable than any urethane, prothane, delrin, or anything. |

Yep... sorry, I forgot that they still had steel bushings. Yes I was aware on the heavy trucks having them in later years.

I hadn't gotten far enough into the cleaning and disassembly to realize they were steel and not rubber. I just assumed they were rubber and that prothane or delrin would be more rigid......but obviously not.
