Little support for the LBBTs
Awhile back I started a thread in the General Discussion area asking for low buck builds. Low budget, shoestring whatever you'd like to call it . I've posted up a ton of links in it and it has been a pretty good hit. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=581873 But one thing that has really lacked is the squarebody contingent. I've got tons of '60-'66 trucks in there. Tons. A few '47-'54 and '67-'72 trucks. Every now and then there's a squarebody I find and I pop it in there but not as many as I would like to see. So when you get a chance check it out and if you feel your truck is in this category of trucks post the link to the build page.
For me this is the kind of trucks I enjoy. It doesn't have to be perfect but right. Guys and gals using simple tricks and using their smarts to build something for a fair price. I do realize low buck to one is different to another but for the sake of it all if you feel your truck is low buck post it. You'll be surprised at the quality of some of the low buck builds I've got posted. Thanks for your help and support.

Re: Little support for the LBBTs
One big tip, visit the local salvage yards first. I have found a lot of decent parts here in the desert. I just got a pretty straight tailgate for my 83 for about $55 last week.
I am currently shopping for body and paint work and will post pics when done - probably one stage urethane and I am looking for around $500 or less for paint only. So, my paint tip is to shop CL for cheap painters - assuming I have good results. |

Re: Little support for the LBBTs
My whole project has been low buck. It needed a lot though but buying everything second hand and finding ways to revive old or used parts is key.

Re: Little support for the LBBTs
I'll get a pic up soon on mine, one way to save money is using spun aluminum disks instead of spendy wheels, $100 vrs $1000. And read Hot Rod's old article on how to paint your car for $100. Painted mine for $300.

Re: Little support for the LBBTs
Check out my build/intro thread.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=342926 Paint was about $3200, and then incidentals beyond that. I started in May and was done by September, while driving it. Did the whole thing in the driveway (it never made it into the garage). K

Re: Little support for the LBBTs
I'll have to pass this onto someone who knows how to explain the process. I can do it but explaining it might confuse things. Ha. I can try though. When you go to post a reply instead of just quick posting use the go advanced deal. Then scroll down towards bottom where you will see manage files. Click and then follow the promps. I doubt I helped but I tried. Thanks for looking in and following along.
