Motor swap

Hello Gang,

I am new to this board and am really glad to be in with a good resoursfull bunch.

I have a 1972 C20 really straight, however the 402 although it runs well, the valve seats are toast from unleaded fuel. The truck gets 4 MPG on a good day.

I bought a 350 HP 350 Vortec crate motor, and although I know most want to go the other way from small block to big block, I am looking for any pitfalls that I may find. My info reflects that the motor mount should bolt up. I understand the motor will sit a little lower. Will the Trans cross member fit? Then how about the drive line length?

Next and right now my worry is Air cond mounts (passenger side) and Alternator with power steering pump mounts. Long or short water pump? I am going with a canister style steering pump to keep it clean.

Any ideas.

I'm looking for a clean install, and the motor is built and mostly ready.
