Heater dosen't heat
Of course I haven't tried to use it in a couple years. I know the wiring is the first place to start. Does any one have a wiring diagram for the heater? What else can it be? it doesn't do anything at all, no air no noise.
Thanks yall! junk

Re: Heater dosen't heat
Does your heater not give you heat, or is the fan not working? Still... start easy and check fuses/wiring connections.
Who needs a heater in Florida???

Re: Heater dosen't heat
No air, no fan, no hum, no buzz no nothing... So I reckon its the fan which in turn is prolly wire or fuse related. I will tackle it tomorrow again, just want to go into it wth as much info as possible.
Actually darling, today was the second cold day so far, it was 43 degrees this morning. Yes, I know, some of yall have icicles hanging off your noses, and it is like 92 degrees below freezing. However, I am a weenie when it comes to the cold. I hate winter. I despise the cold. It is unwanted, unwelcome, rude and invasive. So yes, I want my heater to work, so there.

Re: Heater dosen't heat
If you are just not getting the fan then you should feel heat at the outlet you have selected (defrost/heat). Check the fuse, first. If fuse is ok,test for juice from the fuse to the switch

Jodie, also check the wire that plugs into the blower motor on the passengers side, under the hood. Sometimes they will come loose. When you slide the center lever to the right does it feel like it is moving the switch? You should feel it click a little bit about half way over.... LockDoc

My wife is from the Philippines and wears a jacket almost all summer here in NM. When I lived on the north slope of Alaska, I woke up one morning to see my thermometer at -62 degrees. It took 3 hours for the differentials of my truck to warm up enough to actually drive it. Nothing like having ice form in your nostrils and having your eyelids freeze closed while just blinking... Well, since the temperature is getting down to almost 75 degrees there, I hope you get your heater working soon..!!!

Re: Heater dosen't heat
ok smart guy........ Well, I got heat!! It was at least a blown fuse. I also checked all the wires and made sure they are all snug and where they are supposed to be. It wont win any heating contests, but I got heat! I actually got her out and stretched her wheels today. I think my valves are tappi9ng or something, Ive got a noise I do not like, but as yet can't identify. Can the valves dry out from not being run? If so, wont they like "re-lube" themselves or whatever as I run the engine? Next nice-ish day off, Ill pull the valve covers and check things out.
Thanks for all your help....again take care xoxo junk

Re: Heater dosen't heat
Glad you have heat again.... Tell me, does Florida really have winter..? I thought all days were nice-ish days.. Sorry.. I am picking on you. I lived in Florida for 18 months and the constant warm weather with an occasional hurricane just bored me to death. Then I went to Alaska for many years.
Pull a valve cover and look for loose rockers or bent push rods, and maybe an oil change will help the noise. Or possibly an exhaust leak. And watch out for the alligrators.....

Re: Heater dosen't heat
We do have winter, though it seems like it lasts forever, its really just from about December to March-ish. And it can get down to the low 20s. I know that's not bad by some of yalls standards, but its cold enough for me. Im originally a California girl, so if its too cold to go to the beach, then its TOO cold.

Re: Heater dosen't heat
... If it is the lifters making noise it is not low on oil is it.? ... I forget to check that stuff sometimes and am glad for low-oil sensors/warning lights on the newer stuff.... it was about 70 temp here yesterday and sunny. ... but I think we get a tune-up this week with winter weather. ... I am ready for it. .......my Brother told my Son and I an old Norwegian saying yesterday,.. '' If it is too cold you are wearing the wrong clothes''

Re: Heater dosen't heat
I wouldn't worry about any noises until it gets run out a good bit. It's been sitting a while and seals can harden/dry out,you could hear some noises, could puff some smoke,as well as other things that just take time to quiet down/smooth out.
