NOS GM #3943653 Antenna Mast for 1972 Chevy/ GMC
I picked up an antenna mast that looks unusual to me but the guy I got it from said he bought it for his 1972 GMC. It is not round, it is more of an oval.
When I tried checking the part number #3943653 it shows it fits 1969-74 Chevrolet Cars and some Trucks including a 1972 Chevy/ GMC truck. The 3943653 number was originated by Chevrolet for the eliptical radio antennas. Here is a list of Cars that this 3 section Chrome antenna fits 68-69 Buick Special, Skylark and GS, 1967-69 Chevrolet Corvair, 1969-75 Chevrolet Chevelle, Malibu, Monte Carlo, El Camino, Biscayne, Belair, Caprice, Vega and Nova, 1972 Chevrolet truck 1969-81 Corvette and 1967-68 Pontiac all. The package is not in great shape but is included. The mast looks good but when extended the ant. has a slight curve but when pushed together it looks straight to me. Please ask any questions that you might have. Post to the thread before PM as per the rules. $50.00 plus shipping

Is that a power telescoping antenna or do you have to extend it by hand?

I will check it better when I get home but I do not remember seeing anyway that it is a power ant. mast so I would say manual.

Looks like a manual, pull by hand style. Thanks

Re: NOS GM #3943653 Antenna Mast for 1972 Chevy/ GMC
FWIW: I had one of these on a 68 Pontiac in the mid 1970s and it was also curved when extended, straight when retracted.
hope that helps.
