Anybody here with tricked out chevy 6 cylinders?

Hey there, My name is T.J. and I am from the 60-66 chevy trucks board. There we have a thread entitled "Tricked out chevy 6 cylinders" thought it would be neat to see one here to, if there isn't one already. But I would love to see some and just for fun I will start with mine. 1966 chevy 292. Thanks.

Re: Anybody here with tricked out chevy 6 cylinders?

I've posted this one before. It's not mine, it used to belong to member, N2Billet. It's a 250 and was in a '67-'68 short fleet he used to own. I'm still very impressed by it.

If my '55 had come with a straight six I'd have kept it and dolled it up as close to this as I could have. They're just unique anymore and cool to own

Re: Anybody here with tricked out chevy 6 cylinders?

nice engines boys. I almost hot rodded out a 250 inline for my 56 because it's so out of the norm to see one with an inline still in it. There's nothing more I love than walking up to a car or truck at a show and seeing something different under the hood

I had one bad experience with mine when I had the wrong battery box that put the battery too high.. some hard off roading, sheared hold down bolt and battery contact with the hood made for an interesting afternoon. Luckily it just burnt some wire and did not destroy any igition parts. I get concerned when I see wires draped over metal that can heat up.

Looking at the photo it is probably a project still in the works since the terminal is disconnected and wiring is temporary.

27,000 miles on this one since December. 250, milled and lump ported head, Z28 beehive springs, 194 exhaust, cam, balanced, HEI, 12mm wires and hotter coil, Clifford 6=8 heated, Holley 390, Langdon cast headers, 2 1/2 all the way back through a Magnaflow.
It's the " Buzzen half Dozen"!

Your story reminded me of something I haven't thought of in years. Like FIFTY years!

When I was a small kid my Dad had two different AD trucks. (The years that had door handles that turn, not push buttons - what years are those?)

The 1st one was his 1st truck, a bit of a beater. He bought it on a shoestring budget and he re-ringed the engine over a weekend so he could use it for work on Monday. In his haste to get it running he forgot to install the front motor mount bolts! Took it out to test drive it and goosed it. The engine rose up enough that the fan blades cut THROUGH the hood!!

Scared the POOP out of us both! Needless to say, it totally effed up the hood.

Thank you for the concern, that photo was old and everything is neat and clean these days. I do appreciate when someone does point out something that may be a problem, hope I did not offend you.

Re: Anybody here with tricked out chevy 6 cylinders?

A 235 in one of my customer's 50 1/2 ton. We rebuilt the engine with a little bump cam, installed independent front suspension, removed the granny 4 speed and closed driveline, installed a Tremec 5 speed and a 12 bolt rear diff.
The engine has an Offenhouser intake with two carbs and a Fenton split exhaust manifold running duals. The truck runs and drives like you would expect from a small block V8.....

Waiting on the GMC 6 cyl. I have a 270 with the better head in my 450 GMC firetruck I'm wanting to hop up a little. So far just converted to 12 volt and put Pertronix Ignition and coil in. Haven't cleaned up much other than hose off.
