I have one of my 70 c10s out to work on[I have two inline for freshening]and the man that had this one before me was the manager of the bus shop at the local school dist. he was in LOVE with the 327 engines from all accounts of everyone that is still there that knew him and be bought replacement crates for the buses by a bunch load after they stopped making them. Well this was his truck to drive,back when times were different and people had perks like school provided car/trucks, a couple years before he left that job due to retirement he had the guys at the bus shop put the 327 in his truck. The shop guys told me it had maybe 2000 miles on it it ran ok when I bought the truck but needs tuned,no biggie. The truck didn't have power steering or brakes and I plan to add them during the frame off what should I do about the PS brackets? CPP has one on E-Bay now at a good price does it all bolt to the block? Anyone have any thoughts here? My first plan was to put on a serpintine setup but that blew apart when I saw the motor. Anybody?

drill and tap holes in the heads is a common fix

I have the p/s steering bracket that connects to the block down on the front left corner on my corvette. Works find and is out to the way. The orig set up on the vet was the alt bracket went to the block and exhaust manifold. I not have head w/ acces holes, so no issue now.

The correct bracket bolts to 2 holes down low on the drivers side of the block and uses the engine mount bolt for a third. 3rd bolt is a PITA to get to, but otherwise its not bad.

Alternator should be mounted off the exhaust manifold bolts and the water pump, and if you add AC the aftermarket companies sell mounts to fit the exhaust manifolds.

I replaced my 327 with a newer 350 that has the holes in the heads, but I kept my old brackets. Not worth trying to hunt down the head mount brackets.

Thanks guys I may call a couple of machine shops to see what they say. I have a Vortec headed small block in the corner but it is more motor than I wanted for this build. Jim
