s10 frame question for 50 chevy 3100

hi everyone this is my first post on this fourm. I just picked up a 1950 chevy 3100 long box for my wife for a xmas gift. (should make up for the past xmas lol) the goal for the truck is to be a nice clean cruzer truck for her and my girls while I have my s10 blazer that my summer cruzer. I know i wanna do a s10 frame swap. so my question is i have seen tons of swap but looks to me everyone has been using short cab long boxes frames for there swap. I have a buddy of mine selling a fully bagged 2000 s10 frame from a short box ext cab truck. now would this frame work for me or should i just skip it and find a different frame?

thanks for the help

i think extended cab frame is around 122" wheelbase so you would need to shorten it to around 116" if your going to make it a short bed. if your gonna keep it a long bed you will need to extend the frame to about 125".

Re: s10 frame question for 50 chevy 3100

Yes the S10 will be 122 inches if its an extended cab short bed. Not sure what the wheel base is on your 50, but I would bet its a little longer that 122 if its a long bed. Some guys lengthen the s10 frame or shorten the old truck bed a little.

Re: s10 frame question for 50 chevy 3100

It is the frame you need. If it still has leaf springs in the rear than flip them end for end to make up the 3 inches. If not you are going to have to relocate the link mounts.
