1983 chevy k20 question

I'm looking at buying this 1983 chevy truck it's a k20 custom deluxe. In the pics it shows it has a 700r4 gear pattern on the gauge cluster and it has a 100mph speedo in it is this correct for an 83? the trucks untouched you can just tell

82 they started using the 700r4 so that is right,The speedo i have no idea on.

It should have an 85 mph one. Changed in 1981...

The 700R4 isn't any worse than the TH350. They aren't a workhorse like the TH400 & 4L80 but they will get the job done if you keep the temps down.
100mph stopped around the late 70's. The 1980's speedo and tach fonts are a little big and chubby compared to the '70s fonts and they used eggshell & brown/tan colors instead of white & blue.

I thought 3/4 tons had TH400

700r was optional in 3/4 and 1 tons even behind diesels. is the speedo kph?

You could get a 700R4 in anything below 8500 GVW, 8600 GVW & up got the TH400.
