Re: Floor question

If you had a nice clean cab why would you bother hacking it up?

Isn't that the one where he did that outside behind his house? I seem to remember that one. Wasn't it a green truck? 73-80 style maybe.

Re: Floor question

Yes it was on here, don't remeber what caused him to do it but he found a good lower half of the cab, off a yellow truck if I remember. Was a couple of years ago. Did you try the search function with some various terms?

Re: Floor question

I remember it. Can't think of who it was...sorry. The one I remember was indoors and he grafted the hole cab floor onto his upper, was rather skillfully done.

Re: Floor question

would there be a point? would you just fix the better of the too cabs? seems like it would be wasted work otherwise.

Re: Floor question

I could see doing this with a good, clean cab that had major roof damage (tree falling on it or so), but not with a whole good cab. Thats a whole bunch of needless cutting and welding and heat warp that could be avoided. Plus, to do it properly, both cabs would have to be stripped entirely, and placed on a stand.

My cab on the 83 had the potetial to be rebuilt with the typical floor panels/supports etc and a little more. However, after inspection, I found that the window frames were rotting from the inside. The amount of holes and such to repair on the top half of the cab make it to much to repair and keep water tight.
