Junkyard score
picked up a set of step-side rear bumper filler panels in pretty good condition, and an original jack (and larger-diameter Stewart Warner water temp gauge) at the local junkyard.
Total outlay: $5. It's an '64-'66 long step, and has a factory power steering slave unit on the center link. The rest of that is gone. Haven't decided if I want to roll around in the mud to pull that off. I've never seen the rear bumper/bed filler panels for a step side. They were both dented, and it looks like it was from when they were originally screwed in place and tightened down over the brackets. I've already straightened them out. One of them has a little rust-through, but that will be an easy fix. Are original jacks still sought after? -Brad

Re: Junkyard score
Any chance the rear bumper brackets were there?

Re: Junkyard score
Great find. Those brackets must be like frog teeth. My PO just welded the (super high) bumper onto my truck. Had a heck of a time getting the bed over it by hand

Re: Junkyard score
Hmmm... just the bottle jack. I didn't see any of the lug nut wrench or crank parts.
I guess I'll go back and dig again... the floor was filled with leaves and detritus all the way up into the seat cushion. -Brad

Re: Junkyard score
I used to have mine. I was trying to actually use it once a few years ago and it pis##d me off so the whole kit n' kabootle went straight into the trash can. Went out and got me a hydraulic bottle jack instead. Live and learn I guess.

Re: Junkyard score
I think I have two sets of jacks. Not sure if the one in my 65 is the right one or not. I also have a set of the stepside bumper filler panels. I painted them the color of my truck and never used them. I also have the wings for the bottom of the cab corners.

Re: Junkyard score
What do you mean by "wings" for the bottom of the cab corners?

Re: Junkyard score
Hes talking about the cab rock guards. The mount in the cab corners and keep rocks from flying up onto the steps in front of the fenders.
