Looking at '65 Stepside
Anything in particular to look for in these trucks that is a deal breaker? The one I am looking at is a 6 cyl 3 on the tree looks very stock no modifications. Have not see it in person yet but appears solid from photos. I will follow up soon for a personal review but what special areas should I be concerned about?

Cab corners Cab door sills and floor for rust Cab mount perches are a frequent place for severe rust. Check the roof along the drip rail all the way around. Pin holes will let water in and that can be a difficult problem to solve. Check the entire windshield frame (all the metal above the top edge of the windshield) for rust. Hoods frequently have rust on the lower flange and back brace. Not a deal breaker though. It really depends a lot on what you wanna do with the truck. If you wanna stay all original, then some things will mean more than to someone who wants to put a V8 and automatic and/or make a hotrod truck. I hope this helps. My list certainly isn't comprehensive.

Make sure it runs and drive to! Especially if the price is above $1,000.
