1964 - 1966 gauge cluster restoration

I can build these to order.

The photos are an example of the quality of work that goes into each one I build.

A complete cluster with light harness as shown is $300.00.

The build includes:
Bead blasting and painting all tin work.
Clean, test and reface gauges as well as paint the needles.
Speedometers can be reset and set to mileage of choice for an additional charge.
Wiring harness inspected, cleaned and re-taped.
New bulbs installed (with wiring harness only). I will send new bulbs with cluster that does not have a harness.

Custom bezel paint, polished or chrome bezels are an additional charge.

An aftermarket 5,000 RPM tach kit can be added for $220.00.

I have a high work load so these will take time to build. I will deduct $30.00 for a core cluster.

Thank you for looking,
Tom

Very nice job. A lot of labor and time to get them to look this nice. Good luck on your sale.

Re: 1964 - 1966 gauge cluster restoration

Hi
I have a 62 C10 cluster I would like to get restored. It is not in bad shape, but since I am re-doing everything else it makes sense to do this as well. I know your title says 64-66 but can you do a 62?
Thanks

If you open this link and go to page #2 and post #34 you will see one from a 1960 I did for a customer.

I can restore your cluster but I am a little back logged with work currently and getting ready to move my business from Michigan to Oregon.

What is your time frame for completion. Please feel free to PM me with any questions and a quote for the restoration.

Thank you,
Tom

Hi Bud. I sent you a PM.

The testers work great and thank you again. Looks like there are some other people out there looking for a full gauge lens. Someone needs to reproduce these, they would sell.

Take care,
Tom

Hi Larry,

Yes, the oem gauges will work as long as you do the following:

For the oil pressure, it is just a hard line into an oil pressure port on the engine just like the original.

For the temp gauge, you will have to use the correct temp sending unit for the gauge. If you have a 65 pick up, then you would need a temp sender for a 65 pick up. You may have to use an adapter or drill and tap a hole for the temp sender to pipe thread. I think it is 1/2 NPT but not 100% sure. It may be 3/8 NPT.

For the fuel gauge, again it will match the sending unit. If you are using a later model tank (in between the frame) with a 0-90 ohm sweep on the sending unit, then the gauge will need to match. Prior to 1965, I believe the ohm range was 0-30. I am not sure if this applied to pick ups. I can do more research on this if needed.

For the amp gauge, it will wire into the system just as factory. 1 side of the gauge will be from battery positive and the other side with be from alternator output.

Most GM gauges worked on the same principal from 1965 to the late 90's.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Have a good holiday,
Take care,
Tom

Have you considered offering an option to
replace the Ammeter with a Voltmeter as
part of your Restoration Services?

Yes sir,

I did this for one customer and he liked the result. It uses a volt gauge from a 73 +

As you can see from the photos, I incorporated the tins from both old and new and used the face from a 64-66 cluster amp gauge.

I will have to see if I can find photos of it finished. it does have a stock appearance.

Lots of work and fabrication.

Are you looking to get one restored or do you need to buy one? I don't have any GMC's in my inventory currently. If you check with a board member "61sub" he had one for sale a while ago for around $50.00. Not sure if he still has it or not.

Let me know what you need and we can go from there.
Take care,
Tom
