ECM & relay mounting location?

Where are you guys mounting the ECM and relays. I installed a LQ9 6 litre with a 4l60e trani in my 68 c10. I have a aftermarket harness. I have the ECM bolted to the left inner fender for now. But I am looking for ideas to tidy it up.

Question Re: ECM & relay mounting location?

This is one of the things I have to decide also on my 6.0 install.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: ECM & relay mounting location?

I mounted mine I my S10 in the same place. But then I really don't have the Luxury of extra space in it.

Re: ECM & relay mounting location?

I fabbed a bracket and mounted mine under the front of the left fender., its a little hard to get to but its out of sight, and honestly how often do you need to take it out? There are pics in my build thread.

Re: ECM & relay mounting location?

You can dig through my build to see how it currently sits, but I've had a similar setup since the beginning.

Stacks of stuff with no place to go

Layed everything along the inner fender

Its been streamlined and tucked a lot since this picture. I can't find a still shot, but it can be seen briefly in a couple of the videos on the build page.

Re: ECM & relay mounting location?

Mounted mine behind the gauge cluster under the dash. Great for hiding, a real pain when you have to swap out the computer. Didn't thin I would need to to it that often, so didn't worry about it. Boy was I wrong!

Re: ECM & relay mounting location?

Here's mine tight fit between head light and inner fender. Had to work through the head light bucket and the side marker with the fender well installed to get the right angle. People don't even notice till I have to point it out usually.

Re: ECM & relay mounting location?

I like the looks of your ECM mount. I just don't know if I have enough length in the harness to reach.

Re: ECM & relay mounting location?

Zip tied to the battery haha. Not pretty but it gets the job done until I can make a nice mount up.
