My new truck is finally home....
Since my Blazer is taking foreeeever to get finished, I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to have something to go cruising, and summer showing in.
I really wasn't looking for another truck, but someone on here posted a link to a truck on Ebay. I made the mistake of following the link, and looking at the truck for sale. Some of you may remember the truck. It was a really sweet looking 77 Cheyenne that was all original. It was a low mileage truck to start with, and then it went through a body off restoration. I had a trip planned to Dallas already, so while I was there, I went by and looked at the truck. It was just as nice as the pictures indicated, if not nicer. I drove it a few miles, and I was hooked. I bought it! I also came across a friend that had just opened a shop on the same trip. After a look at the work he had been doing, I decided to let him make a few minor changes to the truck. You can follow the link to my online photo album. I still have a few more pics to add of the construction process, but you can see the results. My buddy just drove in from Dallas with it, and we are off to Texas HeatWave in the morning. I can't wait to get it out on the road.... They will ask you to register to view the album. They don't spam ya, so register, and take a look... My 77 Cheyenne

The photo looks great, but the link says we have to sign in to look at the rest of the pics.

Jonboy, as one of the first lucky guys to ride in it's current state, the pics don't do the truck justice. It rides good, the controller pod is awsome, & the seat material is what show cars are seeking for that 'retro' look, yet it's original stuff.

I remember that actual very well because it was a local truck. Oh, and I did notice you were the high bidder and was wondering what happened with the truck. Very nice!!

Now that I've had a chance to look through all the pictures, I have to add that this is one fine truck! I love the black with the stock chrome! Plus, the air ride and rims make a huge difference.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your positive response. I just got in from a weekend on Lake Travis, and the Texas HeatWave show.
I was blown away by the positive response the truck recieved. Every age group, and ethnic catagory gave a very favorable response. It seems like everyone I talked to had a Dad, Grandfather, or Uncle that once owned a truck just like it. I saw smiles all day Saturday from people stopping by to take pictures. Since I didnt plan to stay for the awards on Sunday, I asked to not be judged. The judges I talked with felt I was making a mistake by not being judged, and were very generous with their compliments on how well the truck had turned out. I have been waiting for quit some time to have a really sweet 73-87 GM truck. The wait has been worth it, now I am going to enjoy this one till my Blazer gets finished....
