What amount of drop
Well I really want to lower my truck before the summer. Was thinking of a 3/4 drop. I'm also running 15x8 rims with 255/60/15. Would that be a good look or would a 4/6 drop be better? Want to order the proper parts this weekend.

Re: What amount of drop
a picture of the truck would help. they dont all sit the same after all these years. that tire is a little shorter than stock. so rubbing on the front fenders may not be an issue with 2.5" drop spindles and one coil cut for another 2". a flip in the back might make it sit were you want it

Re: What amount of drop
Flip kit for sure..3" spindles in front with stock or 1.5" springs...That's what i have with 30" tires and I never rub the fenders. But these trucks all sit a little different.
Wow..a Ct. truck that's not a rust bucket..Rare...Good luck. |

Re: What amount of drop
Well now I was thinking should I go with a flip in the rear to get the 6in drop or the c-notch kit. How hard is it to do the c-notch install compared to the flip? Mcgaughys has the 4.5/6 kit with the notch kit. I'd rather get it as whole kit but I'm not sure.

Re: What amount of drop
You do not need the c notch with the flip kit.. If you go any lower after the flip you will need the c notch.

Re: What amount of drop
The c notch only keeps you from hitting your rearend on the frame ..It doesn't make you any lower. It's not required unless you plan on putting heavy loads in the truck.

Re: What amount of drop
That's kinda what I thought as well thanks. The 4.5/6 kit is like $580.00 plus $180.00 for the four lowered shocks from mcgaughys is that a good deal or should I shop around a little more?

Re: What amount of drop
here is pic of mine at 5/6 with 15x8 an 255/60 up front and 15x10 rear with 275/60 u don't have to c notch the frame for a 6" drop bout u have to for 7" I used western chassis 2.5" spindles and springs up front and used belltech flip kit and cnotch for the rear and also used belltech shocks all around

Re: What amount of drop
That looks awesome.. Just what I want.. I'm a little concerned though it looks like your control arms would bottom out on every speed bump. I have like four speed bumps in my complex were I live should I be worried about bottoming out

Re: What amount of drop
The control arms from my experience dont usually make contact with speed bumps on a lowered square but it will smash long tube headers.

Re: What amount of drop
Speed bumps will catch exhausts and airdams. Slow way down over them.... Dips will catch control arms... slow down over them.... Drop it and you could be a city road condition consultant in no time..... You'll know every pothole and road irregularity in your town in about two days...

Re: What amount of drop
Now I might go with a 3/5 drop thinking the 4/6 would be to much for these lousy potholed up Connecticut roads..

Re: What amount of drop
Well I finally got my Mcgaughys 4.5/6 drop kit. Now I'm a little worried because of all the talk about the 15x8 wheels not fitting I ordered some American racing machined ar23 rims 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing. Hoping to here other stories on this.. I really like these rims I don't want to go to a 16in or 17in rim/tire combo..
