Re: 96 Tahoe with 98 Trans/T-case ?
I'm not sure if there is any diffence in wiring harnesses but the trans is the same, and as long as the t-case isnt and an auto shift model going in place of a non auto shift, that should be the same as well. they are both OBD2 era trucks so any controls coming from the ECM would be executed the same in either truck. this is assuming they are both half ton based trucks.

Re: 96 Tahoe with 98 Trans/T-case ?
The transmissions are different. 97 was a split year. Late 97 and newer have a one piece bellhousing that is removable from the transmission. Early 97 and earlier have a integral bellhousing that is not removable and a torque converter cover that is removable. There may be some electrical differences in the transmissions too.
All that is for 4l60e. The standard transmission in tahoes and half ton trucks. |
