"KC" on VIN plate. What does it mean?

My VIN plate has "KC" on it at the beginning. What does it mean?
Here is my complete VIN number.
KC2545T128479
I know that it is a: 3/4 ton (127 inch wheel base 7500LBS)
Truck
1965 model year
built in Tarrytown N.Y.
128479 build / series number
It is a 2WD truck.
Why does it have K&C?
Any and all info is appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Dan

That is REALLY strange. No logical explanation except a factory mistake, the K simply should not be there. What is stamped on the frame, does it match? What about your title?

Re: "KC" on VIN plate. What does it mean?

The Pennsylvania title matches "exactly" as the tag is stamped in picture.
Not sure about the frame. I just bought the truck Friday (1-17-14) and don't know a whole lot about them yet. Where do I look for the frame or other VIN stampings on the truck?
Thanks,
Dan

The pics are from it's journey home Friday.
The previous owner put a 1972 disc brake full frame setup under front and 1972 rear in it so it has the Chevy 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern which I thought was a big PLUS! It's a Custom cab model with a 292 6 cylinder. Here is the Tag.
Don't know much about the trim and paint codes.

Is that what 1972 trucks had 5 lug on 5 inch?

Not good, I wanted to put a spare set of Weld wheels on it when it's done.
Thanks for the info though.

Underhood, on top of the left frame rail, forward of the engine mount. Circled yellow in the picture:

Chevy trucks had 5 on 5 all the way up to 1998. Looks like a good project what are your plans?

Thanks for asking.
A semi restore and lowering. Was thinking a "Ratrod" look also.

I can't add any knowledge on the 'K', but that truck would look a lot like mine if you dropped it.

Re: "KC" on VIN plate. What does it mean?

The C is for 2wd
The K is a special destination code. Chevrolet put these codes at the start of the vin. GMC put them in the middle. Only on trucks that needed the special destination code.
K is correct for Pennsylvania.

Here is some lit from 69. Sorry I don't have lit for 65.

Thanks bruceman1968 for the great info.
I was starting to think I would never figure it out or it was a miss stamp.

Re: "KC" on VIN plate. What does it mean?

it is more than likely a miss stamp. so you will have a rare $50,000.00 truck. there should actually be a 5 in place of the K. what does it say on your written registration?

Re: "KC" on VIN plate. What does it mean?

Here is the title or written registration. It matches exactly. I was told that I am the 3 owner of the truck. In the same family from new.
