Cab door locks re-keyed...any help

Is it possible to re-key the door handle locks on a 1965 C10?
The previous owner can not locate the keys for my truck.
It's a custom cab model and has both locking keyed doors.
Any and all info is appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Cab door locks re-keyed...any help

Just had a locksmith do mine. Was less than 20$ with two keys.

Yes, pull the handles and ignition or just the handles and the ignition key, and take them to the locksmith---$20 here on the West Coast. You can also do it yourself if you have a wafer set.

just take one handle off one of the doors, and remove the key part (button) there is a number on it. take that # or now that you have one out to the locksmith. the # is all he needs.

I just did mine about a tear ago, keys were worn to bad, so took everything to the local locksmith, $15.00 bucks later all was good....

My son and I took the drivers door lock out of another truck, and had it re-keyed to his truck, then put it in the passenger door. The keyhole is upside down, but works great. I think it was about $10 here in Idaho.
