TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
I thought I would post up a picture of my truck with a rear roll pan and factory bumper. originally I had the exhaust coming straight through the bumper but did not care for the look. I decided to mount the factory sport bumper through roll pan. I may move it a little closer to the body but tell me what you think.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
Thanks Guys! I have been thinking about this modification for a while now and finally had a bit of time to work on it. I left the bumper in the stock location but do you guys think it would look better to move it closer to the body or just leave it alone. I could probably move it in about an inch or so.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
If there's room I would flip it over and tuck it in a bit.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
Here's the Lingenfelter 55 step side with the bumpers flipped.
Like I said IF there's room between the tailgate and license plate this would look great. Note how the bumper contour matches the fender profile instead of fighting it. I think the designers had wanted it this way but production didn't get the memo. BTW on your truck if you were to do this I would cut a wedge out of the lower fender side from the wheel opening to the rear and tuck the roll pan up to the bottom of the bumper. It would make a cleaner less bulky boxy finish to the side and rear profiles.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
Thanks for the Pictures! I really like the look of that. I completly agree with you on the back of these trucks looking really boxy and thats why I could not live with the roll pan. I thought the rear bumper would make it look much better but it is still missing something to me. I may even put those endgate chains back on but we will see. It may look better once it is painted and the chevrolet across the back is painted white.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
I like it and will probably do the same eventually. Can you get some measurements on where you cut the holes?

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
I dont have any measurements but it was real easy to figure out where to cut. Just run a straight edge off of the frame and cut from the back side with an angle grinder with a real thin blade.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
I really like this idea. I originally bought a new rear bumper for my fleet, got the truck painted and then started to mount the bumper and didn't like the gaps and spacing at all. So I bought and installed a roll pan and am unsure if I like it either. I may give this a try since I have the new bumper already.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
can you still take your tailgate off with a roll pan on.
I ask this cause i have a 58 fleetside with a roll pan (so far just bolted on) but i have to take the pan off in order to get to the tailgate bolts. ?? |

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
I can access the bolts on mine. I have had my tailgate off and on a few times.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
Huh, well maybe i got a poorly made one. I may have to see if i can drop it down a tad to see if it clears the side bolts without any problems.

Re: TF fleetside with a rear roll pan and bumper
I get to the top bolt from the top and the bottom bolt I have to go from underneath. I will take a picture today and post it on here.

Here is a pic. Not sure why it is sideways but it will give you an idea of how it looks.
