The mean lean
I kinda always knew my truck was leaning to the passenger side thought is was the cab mounts but it's the bed as well as the cab leaning toward the pass Side so now I'm assuming its a suspension thing not the cab mounts because the mounts wouldn't make the whole truck lean just the cab.. Am I right??!

Part of the problem is that a pickup cab and box are separate units, so you don't get the benefit of additional structure from the body like you do with a Suburban (or a passenger car) - which allows the frame to twist.
If that's the case the Cab might appear straight but the tailgate/box looks like it's leaning. I know I have a 1/2" spacer between the leaf spring and axle pad on my truck in order to square everything up. These things had "lean" when new, so I didn't spend a lot of time trying to root cause the problem. Just threw the spacer in there and haven't looked back. K

The classic chevy lean. You can try and swap the leafs side to side and see if it evens up some.

My 85 short bed leans a lil on the driver side. I noticed a previous owner put some of those screw in spacers in the driver side coil spring.

Mine has a 1" torque lean. The right bed side is 1" above the wheel than the left side. Drives me nuts. I hope lowered leafs will reduce some of the lean.

Yea it's driving me nuts... The cab and the bed on pass side are 1 3/4 lower freakin weird.. I'm also hoping when I replace the leafs and coils and drop kit it helps if not then I guess it's spacer time lol....

Unfortunately if you have the lean now, lowering it makes it look worse..I found that one of my leafs was broken so it did help to get new ones. Between shimming the bed-cab mounts to make it look straight at the bumpers, and then shimming the suspension like Keith said you can make it look pretty good.

well since your truck leans to the passenger you could try to drink a 6 pack a night for the next 6 months and eat a double bacon cheeseburger at every meal to weigh down the driver side. haha just kidding. well maybe. my truck does the same thing. almost seems like a flat tire... but when looking at my truck the bed tilts down towards the passenger side but when driving it feels like its tilting towards the drivers side... still drives a straight line with no hands and brakes straight.

Well I just measured the both front and rear bumpers on level surface and they both are level with the ground.. So sagging suspension is out now the only thing is could be is cab bushings and bed mounts am I right??? |
