Heater Control
I'm trying to figure out my 62 C10 heater controls for thrift heater. I only have two levers on the control. One for the fan switch, and one that pulls the cable to the heat/defrost flip door.
Doesn't there have to be a third lever for the valve to shut off the coolant circulation? The control doesn't look like it has been hacked up, but there are only two levers. Thanks

I just went through the 1960 Recirculating Heater installation instructions and there was no shut off for the hot water. They didn't even suggest a mechanical valve on the hoses, just straight hook up from the engine to the heater. Must have been pretty uncomfortable in warm climates.

Good info - thanks. Not much concern about too much heat right now! I guess in the summer I could just put a short loop of heater hose to bypass the heat exchanger.
