Some Advice
I would like to go with a 10 inch rear wheel and 8 inch up front in my shorty stepper, is this possible without any mods to the bed?
Thanks |

Re: Some Advice
I have 9" on mine with offset (about 4") it is tight........size tire 275/70/17 so 15" might be ok.....depending on the tire size.
this is how tight it is on the rear of my truck: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-GMC/i-CFc3mDN bed wood tolerance on rear of truck: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-GMC/i-rn7dJkK Is the front is your truck stock or do you have a later model crossmember and drop spindles. If so you could go with 8" wide wheels but not any offset like my truck. 15x8 on front with a 91 crossmember and no drop spindles: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-GMC/i-7LVGtzg 17x9 ; no offset, 91 front crossmember 2.5" drop spindles: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-GMC/i-f2ZWDRK it is tight up front when turning lock to lock !!!! Hope this helps Kieth |

Re: Some Advice
You can have the lip of the fender rolled to get about another inch or so of room. If you go that route make sure you find someone with a rolled made for it. The PO of my truck cut the lip off and now the bed is all screwed up and its going to take a lot of time to fix it.

Re: Some Advice
It's not stock in height. crawl under and look and take pics if you don't know what you're looking for. Someone will tell you what's been done. By the way, nice truck.

Re: Some Advice
I went 4 in the back and will have 2 1/2 spindles in the front and 2 in springs. The PO cut the front and took too much out so it bottoms out. I really noticed how bad it was when I redid the rear suspension. Now it rides great in the back and the front is horrible. lol
