67-72 radio delete plates
What size are radio delete plates for these trucks?
8" x 2.5" is the impression I'm under. Are they easily found? |

Re: 67-72 radio delete plates
You can find a few on the parts board or E-bay. The hardest thing is finding one with the clips.

Re: 67-72 radio delete plates
2-9/16'' x 8 - 1/16'' [Give or take a 1/16th.] There is a rolled rim, triangular in cross-section, about 1/8'' in- and 1/8'' high.

Re: 67-72 radio delete plates
I found one inside my passenger door, on the bottom, painted the same RPO 516 Orange as my whole truck. Since it was the late '70s, I thought nothing of it to cut holes in it for a cassette deck and painted it wrinkle-flat black, for an AM/FM Cassette Deck face panel. It was better than the plastic with a paper wood-looking decal that came with the deck.
Since then I have gone back to the Radio Delete look, but have had to buy them. One was a junkyard find. I gave the junkie about $5 at a pick'n'pull. Another I bought from a board member for $10.

Become a subscribing member here and post a want to buy ad on the parts board. You'll probably find one by the end of the day.

Re: 67-72 radio delete plates
Thought I would also add pictures of the heater delete plate for the dash.

PM sales are against board rules. Since you are a subscribing member please list it for sale on the parts board. Thank you.
