Re: I6 and V8 perches Info

If I read it right on, you are doing a swap on a 69 truck? to add a little info, the 67 -72 trucks had a little different deal on the engine stands? Straight/square, altho the early trucks did use the same stands , for the I 6 230/250,& the sb, the 67-72 trucks did have a different set, for sb/I6/, or BB. From I 6, to sb spot on the engine, is 3 1/2" difference, with the I 6 stands setting to the rear. Manny guys will miss this figure, as the bolt holes are exactly 2 1/2" on the top of the frame.....the shape of the stands are different, & this makes up the other inch Any ?, lay it back....or shoot me a PM? You have a lot of good info going On the early trucks, Captian Fab, or Tex firefighter can tell you more....Longhorn

Re: I6 and V8 perches Info

On a '67-'72 truck, you can use the perches in the six cylinder location with set-forward LSx mounts to put the engine in the stock location. Trouble is, the bump that sticks up on the mounts is likely to hit the exhaust manifolds; on my swap, I had to cut up the stands, flip the bumped-up parts upside down and side to side, and weld them back in to get enough clearance.
