Exclamation How much money in your Squarebody?

Was just curious to see. Mine, paid $800 for it, rebuilding the 350 cost me 1100, then 3 years later the vortec heads and cam another 1100..trans and computer to run it, 3300...tires 800....exterior stuff such as windows front and back, weatherstripping, chrome trim, both bumpers, etc maybe 800?

Trans cooler 140, headers and exhaust about 400...maintenance such as brake booster/MC/prop valve etc 250...etc.

So I guess I have $9000 in mine give or take a few.

Holy crap...never added it up till now!

And it still looks like hell lol!

Re: How much money in your Squarebody?

Rough guess would be approx 4 grand including cost of the truck. What's bad is I'm just about to start tackling all the little odds and ends to make it nice and we all know how those start adding up.

Over 40K but parts are expensive to import and the truck was over 15K when purchased,

As she sits 11,500. That includes buying it and a 77 C30 parts truck. If i rook away all the parts i sold or scraped then about 8,000.

Re: How much money in your Squarebody?

Right around 5k with cost of the truck. My engine and transmission are original as far as I know and it has 124k on it, so I'm sure an engine and transmission rebuild will have to happen at some point in the not too distant future.

I stopped counting and caring once I was past the 10k mark. All I know is I'd drive it anywhere, the A/C works great and Obama can not tell where it is or how fast I'm going in it.

Re: How much money in your Squarebody?

$2,241.00 - including purchase price of $950. Keeping very close track of this one, just to make sure I don't end up sinking more into it than I could sell it for (if I needed to).

Re: How much money in your Squarebody?

When I rebuilt the 83, it was right around $13,000. Its probably worth $13 the way she sits today (in primer, cab is ruined by rust, no engine).

The 1987 is more reasonable at ~$3500 includiung the purcahse price.

But neither are running at the moment. So more money to go.
