V8 gas pedal

Is there a difference between a V8 gas pedal and a inline 6 pedal in the 1966 ??

photos?

I took out my inline awhile back and put a V8 in and the linkage is not as nice as I would like it..too short

Pedal - no difference.
Linkage from firewall to carb is different I6 to V8.

I'm no expert, but I have noticed, in my parts collection, that there are at least 3 different lengths of the vertical throw arm attached to the cross piece which comes through the firewall. I had a picture of the 3 side by side, but can't find it now. I would guess the 3 different lengths are for V8, smaller 6's, and the 292 has the longest. (I think the taller 292 motor puts the carb higher than the 230/250) You can imagine that these different lengths would change the geometry of the carb linkage, with each starting that carb linkage rod at a different height relative to the firewall. Hope this makes sense?

Thank you...I guess its time to scour the parts yards. Your right about the geometry of the carb linkage. U used my old linkage from the inline 6 and it did not work..It needs a longer pull

Ha! that's my picture I couldn't find! that's funny. I don't remember why I posted it, but I'm glad someone kept it, I don't seem to have it anymore!

"D" must be from a different model, notice the angle of the gas pedal leg...
