Gauging interest in repro spids, decals, etc.
Hi all,
Short and sweet. This board has been extremely helpful to me. I am a partner of a printing business and I am able to reproduce all of the decals, labels, spids (yes I can do the correct font), jack labels etc. I am wanting to know if you guys and gals may need a source for this. There will be some up front cost as different labels require different materials, i.e. Valve cover decals and spids are two different materials. If there is enough interest, I'll do it. Please chime in and tell me what you all are looking for. Terry |

Board member chipflyer reproduces SPID labels, don't know about other ones.

Re: Gauging interest in repro spids, decals, etc.
. . . .
I've been trying to figure out a way for me to have some 70 - 71 only, valve cover decals reproduced and sold without having to wear ORANGE for a L O N G time - LOL. There are a lot of people on this website that said they'd buy one in an earlier post of mine. The latest I've been told is that I could have some made and sell 20 of them . . . but that's ALL I could sell. What do you know about the copyright or other laws that protect things being reproduced from General Motors. I've been told that it doesn't have to say "copyright " on it, to still be not allowed. . . . . Last edited by Steve Hafner; 03-18-2014 at 06:02 AM. |

Gauge face decals to overlay rusty faces would be nice if economical

Something the true patina crowd might be interested, as well as myself, would be the old city stickers that we used to have to get. Just a thought.

Copyrights have a limited life and I bet GM doesn't renew them once they quit offering the sticker.

Re: Gauging interest in repro spids, decals, etc.
Hey,if GM was still offering them it would be one thing. Nothing being taken from GM so hardly worth pursuing for them,I'd think. "Chevy" and the bowtie get used all over very loosely. It's nothing like Harley with any bar & shield facsimile or name, such as "hog",when related to Harleys. Harley never even sold a product named Hog and only later in time created H.O.G.,which isn't a word, that stands for Harley Owners Group. I could see making only stickers that no one offers. Because a company that has paid for licensing would be the one to go after you
