Re: Looking for an original swamp cooler?
It's now posted on Ebay for $399 with a start bid of $299.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Fire...#ht_120wt_1312 Amazing how much these thing have gone up in price. I thought I paid too much 2 yrs ago for a $275 Thermador because I wanted it on the truck just before a local show. I've been looking for a 2nd one off an on since then, but it's now priced out of my budget. |

Re: Looking for an original swamp cooler?
I bought that same style 6 months ago on Craigslist for $150 in better shape. Crazy the prices these are bringing! Make sure if you buy that style it comes with the adjustable kick stand. It's a fairly unique piece unlike the Thermador style kickstand.

Re: Looking for an original swamp cooler?
He listed it in both places the same day. The EBay auction doesn't say it's listed locally and might be subject to being sold. I wonder how he would handle it if someone bids on it and then someone local wants to buy it from his CL ad. I thought EBay frowned on auctions being cancelled after receiving bids.

Re: Looking for an original swamp cooler?
My dad had one of the "good" ones stashed in a storage shed where he lived for years that he had bought and used on a road trip and when he went to dig it out for my 51 Merc someone had made off with it.
