Rear swap help
i went to get 3:73 gears at store and they asked if i had a 3" carrier or 4" how do i know >???

You have to know what ratio you have now. The carrier will vary depending on what gears your rear came with stock.

It's a 3 series then.
If you're sure...you might check for sure before you plunk down the money for new gears. |

That works out to 2.87:1
Should be either 2.73 or 3.08 like you said above. Are you sure you didn't miscount? But, never-the-less, it's a 3 series carrier. |

will i see a big jump in take off ? with 373's i cant even lay wheel lol rebuilt 350 edelbrock 1406 turbo 350 old but shifts hei sccell cap and rotor and plugs and accell super coil

Huge difference.
All of my trucks have always had 3.73s and they will definitely take off quickly. Burnouts can be accidental. They do get pretty old when driving on the highway though. Overdrive and 3.73 is perfect. Remember, tire size plays a big part in the equation. I always run 275/60s, which are 28 inches tall. Any shorter tire will make it rev that much more on the highway. |
