so that night i e-mailed the owner...i thought.. the next day art called asking for my order...and said he got my e-mail...still they are doing nothing... i said but you are the one that picks the converter best suited for my needs from the spec.sheet...SORRY... I SAID JUST SEND IT BACK TO ME...WHICH I PAYED FOR... he said sorry you fell that way.... HOW WOULD YOU FEEL????? it cost me 400.00 to get my trans repaired..from all the alum.that got pumped through it... HERES A PIC. |

Thanks for the heads up. I was considering buying one of their converters but if thats the way they stand behind their product I'll go else where. You would think they would replace it or at the very least sell you a stronger replacement at cost. Looks like I'm going with a Neil Chance Performance converter now.

Since I have been on the "bad" guy list here before for setting the record straight about a line of BS I might as well stick my nose in this as well but for a different reason.
First of all there are always two sides to a story and I dont fully know what yours is concerning the breakage and what caused it. Second it seems that the internet is all too easy to use a slanderous tone when referring to a business. Finally i can say that after building race engines professionally for longer than several here have been alive I can say there are literally 3-4 trans builders that virtually ALL drag racers (and several other motorsports) use with confidence. Dave Coan has a reputation to uphold like we all do and I am quite sure he is a man of integrity. Now before anyone accuses me of working for or being related to Dave Craig Art Jason or anyone there I am not nor am I getting anything for sticking my neck out here but I simply dont want peoples good name slammed because of one problem. Perhaps Art (or anyone) was less than polite or understanding and I am sure i have been that way on occasion but you know how it goes.... one bad comment trasvels faster and farther than ten good ones. Just my professional 2 cents. ( and many happy customers opinions) |

how old was the converter?? personnally with ultra-high performance stuff breakage is to be expected and to think someone is responsible for subsidising your penchant for speed is unrealistic if you can't afford to maintain it sell it or get a sponser

What are the specs of your whole set up? If the verter was being stressed more thann it was designed for, then I have to agree with the company, but his attiude sure seemed pretty suckey. (is that even a word)
However, if everything was done per instructions, and he hand picked this unit per your trucks spec sheet ect ect, then I say you e-mail hima link of this thread once it has matured a little and he sees how many people may have been buying from him. In all reality though, I'll say this...I have never heard anything bad about them in the past. |

THAT CONVERTER...has 3 months with my 496 stroker last summer
sent it back to get reworked this last winter... for my new 638c.i. they cut it open and installed a new bearing. and said nothing else needs to be done!!!!!!! my engine builder could not even belive that ... so in it went..got 6 weeks out of it..... i was very very proud to have this coan..... have over $775.00 invested in it plus shipping... i am very supprised to.... THIS IS A STREET DRIVEN TRUCK...not a race track truck... no one is going to sponser me for that...... and yes i am mad....i can only hope that this gets back to them... |
