1968 CST 50th anniversary truck
Hello everyone. While I am new to this board I am not new to the world of 67-72 chevy trucks. I want to thank all the people who make this site possible as it is a great place to get answers and other information on our trucks. I recently read about the 50th anniversary trucks on this board and learned that I had a 68 CST with a 327, tach, tilt, buckets, and the paint code 551. I guess I shouldnt have sold that one. Well 2 weeks ago I sold my 69 GMC 396 LWB truck and my 67 chev 4x4. It was a sad day seeing my last two trucks go as I didn't have any more. I lasted 1week and I had to get my fix.(withdrawls were way too much for me to handle) On the 25th I bought a 68 CST with a 396, air cab, camper special, etc. Yes it is the paint code 551. Anyway my question is does anyone know how many of the 50th anniversary trucks were built and are there any web pages dedicated to these trucks? Thanks again. (sorry for the long post)

Welcome to the board! And sadly there are no #'s as to how many 551 paint codes there was. Sounds like you got a great buy!

Sounds and looks like a sweet truck. All of the 50th Anniversary models came with the 625 parchment/gold interior as part of the package. One of the regular boardmembers has a site with some good pics and information. Here is a link:50th Anniversary Trucks I have a few pics myself. From what I have gathered there were not a lot but they are not as rare as some models. Unique:yes Rare: somewhat. They also came with different packages from longhorn to short beds. All were fleets though. Different trim packages also. There was also the full spectrum of drivetrains from I-6 to 4x4. Have fun
