2 Questions carb and air cond belt tension.

Carb
Are the rebuilt quadrajets from summit racing ok?.
It's same price as having mine rebuilt here in Australia and at least I can do a instant change over and still have my old one to play with.

Air cond belt tension.
What is the correct tension my new compressor is making my old belt screech
and the shop that gassed the compressor has the belt really tight.

If you're looking for a good quadrajet for that price range you should contact the guys in the link.

On your belt problem. Maybe it's not tension. Maybe you have the wrong pitch of belt.
Does the belt sit correctly in the pulley.

Thanks have contacted these guys for the carb to see if they will ship to Australia.

Looked at the belt today and it looks fine no cracks and sits in the pulley ok so maybe it is just old and hard will try a new one and see.

When you put on new belts, scuff up the groove on the pulleys. Gives your belts better bite.

Have contacted these guys at SMI twice but no reply ?Guess they don't ship international.
Is this carb on the summit racing site I need for my truck It's running the standard carb that was on the 305 and just want to replace that as it performs well on the 350 and gives great gas mileage..
Have no idea if it's a closed loop system?
